Question
Who pays for the AI when someone on my team runs?
It depends on what it runs with. Through the connector, each person with their own AI plan. With an API key, the owner of the key the project uses. Bitácora doesn't charge for the AI.

Bitácora doesn't sell or charge for the AI. Who pays for it depends on what each batch runs with:
| Runs with | Who pays |
|---|---|
| The connector: the Claude chat, Claude Code, Cursor, or whatever tool the person uses | That person, with their own plan for that tool |
| The project's API key | The owner of the key, on their Anthropic account |
| Courtesy runs | Bitácora: there are a few to try it out, before you connect anything |
Which key a project uses
In the Run the notes panel, Runs with tells you which one:
- My general key: the general key of the project's Owner.
- Key for this project: a key chosen just for it, belonging to whoever set it.
- Lent: if someone on the team clicked Lend my key to this project, the project runs with theirs until they stop lending it.
- None: use the connector (MCP): the project doesn't use a key; each person runs from their own chat.
Choosing it is up to the Owner. It's all in Use your Claude API key.
See how much is spent
In Settings › Plan, the Owner sees AI spend this month: the studio's total, by project and by person. It's what was spent with API keys; what each connector uses doesn't go through Bitácora, and each person sees it in their own tool.
