Guide
Start a project from your client's brief
Upload the brief and documentation your client gave you when you create the project. They go into Resources and the AI starts proposing the screens from them on its own.
Who can do this
- For
- Designers, Your team
- Role
- “Can run with AI” and up
- Plan
- All plans, including Free
- Where
- On a computer
If your client gave you a brief, a requirements document or screenshots of what they have today, upload them when you create the project. Bitácora keeps them in Resources, the project folder the AI looks at, and the AI starts proposing the screens on its own.
Create the project with the brief
- In Projects, press New project, or the N key. You can also drop the PDF, the text or the image onto Projects: it opens already set to From a brief with the file in place.
- Type the Name.
- Under Starting point, choose From a brief.
- Drag the files into the box, or click it to choose them. PDF, text, Markdown, CSV, JSON and images work, up to 25 MB each and 30 files at most.
- Choose the Main screen size: Smartphone, Tablet, Desktop or whatever it is. It gives the AI a clear reference, although you can dictate any size later.
- Press Create project. You'll see Uploading the brief with the progress of each file.
What happens next
You land on the canvas with the brief already in Resources and a note that asks to propose the screens from it. The message says The AI is proposing the screens from the brief: the batch starts on its own in a few seconds and the screens arrive on the canvas.
- With your API key, or with the free runs, it runs on its own.
- If you only have the connector, Bitácora gives you the phrase to paste into your chat.
- With no AI connected, what's missing to connect it opens; the note stays ready for when you do.
From there you carry on as usual: you review, dictate changes and run again. It's covered in Run and review.
Have your team work on it
If you run the studio, under Who works on it you can choose a team or invite people by email. The invitations go out when you create the project. If your plan has no room, they wait for you to admit them. It's covered in Invite your team.
Troubleshooting
- "Add at least one brief file": with From a brief you need a file. If you don't have one, choose Blank.
- A file wasn't added: it isn't a type that works or it's larger than 25 MB. Convert it to PDF or to text.
- "Not included in the brief": a PDF over 8 MB or past the 30-file limit. Split the PDF into parts or reduce its size, and upload it to Resources.
- "The files are in Resources, but the AI could not start": the note is in the bar; run it when you connect the AI or have a key.
- "The project is created, but … was not uploaded to Resources": the project does exist. Upload the file from Resources, on the canvas.
- You reached your plan's project limit: archive one you don't use or change plans.
