Duplicate, archive, delete, and restore projects

From the menu on each card in Projects you duplicate, archive, or delete a project. What you delete waits 30 days in the trash in case you want it back.

In Projects, each card has a ⋯ menu. It also opens when you right-click the card.

Duplicate

Click Duplicate. The copy shows up as "(copy)" and doesn't open on its own. It brings the screens, the canvas, the flow, the sketches, the to-dos, and the Resources. It doesn't bring the notes, the version history, the client delivery, or the people you invited.

Archive

Click Archive when a project is no longer in progress. It stops counting toward your plan's limit and leaves search and the summaries, but it stays whole: you can open it and your client's delivery stays published.

To see them, in Show switch from Active to Archived. Click Restore in its menu to bring it back.

Delete

  1. Click Delete, in red.
  2. Confirm with Delete project.

It goes to the trash and its delivery stops showing in the portal while it's there.

Recover from the trash

  1. Open Settings › Your data and click Open the trash.
  2. Each project says how many days it has left. Click Recover.

What you delete waits 30 days; after that it's erased on its own. When you recover it, everything comes back as it was: its client and its payments, the people, the teams and the passes, the pending invitations, and its delivery, visible if it was. More about the trash in Take your data with you and recover what you deleted.

Archived projects don't count, and neither do the sample project or My first challenge (their copies do). On Free, deleting a project doesn't skip the 30-day wait. If you hit the limit when creating, duplicating, restoring, or recovering, Bitácora tells you when you can or which plan gives you more room.

On mobile

In Bitácora Lite, each project's menu has Rename, Duplicate, Archive, and Delete (it asks for a second tap). The archived list and the trash are on the computer.
